Went to Edinburgh on the night train in January, was indoors working at the university, generally walking through a series of tunnels. Apart from a glimpse of a grey sky from the window of a bus, I spent 36 hours away from natural light or in darkness, including one of the finest pubs on the planet. Waiting for my night train at about 11 PM, the rain started showering. This wasn't raindrop rain, this was Edinburgh Maniac Spray some practical joker following you around in a fork lift truck, on the prongs being a pallet holding a downwards pointing a jet wash pinched from a petrol station. Luckily I'd done my strolling and photography by then and found a warm dry train, back, again in darkness, to Euston just before dawn. Pitch darkness is a good way to view Euston Station. Lovely trains. 50 quid each way, nice big clean beds. I think there is still daylight in Scotland, but supplies were low. The pictures looked like this. So did Edinburgh.
Hello, this is Neil's blog - mostly about looking for interesting things in life, which I like to photograph. It's slow blogging, so updates can be sporadic. Click on any photo to see the full size version.
